The ERC on Friday, June 3, asked Meralco not to block open access and retail competition reforms in the power sector.  ERC was reacting to Meralco’s petition for declaration relief filed before the Pasig Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 157 last week, seeking the court’s nullication of ERC issuances that prohibit distribution companies from participating in the retail electricity market.
