THE BOARD of the Power Sector Assets and Liabilities Management Corp. (PSALM) has approved another auction for the 850-megawatt (MW) Sucat thermal power plant in Muntinlupa City. A company official said this will be another round of public bidding, but may proceed to a negotiated sale in case of a failed bid. The privatization of the decommissioned Sucat plant is scheduled in September 2016. The plant has four separate units with an installed capacity of 150 MW, two 200 MW and a 300 MW.
