THE Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) will look into the process used by the Department of Energy (DoE) in arriving at the list of solar projects that it certified as eligible to receive a guaranteed rate of P8.69 for each kilowatt-hour it feeds into the national electricity grid.
“It’s an issue that needs to be resolved before we determine the next step,” ERC Chairman Jose Vicente B. Salazar told reporters on the sidelines of the 10th anniversary of the Wholesale Electricity Spot Market on Friday night.
“The next step would be for us to evaluate whether we will issue the CoC [certificate of compliance] … for the companies to whom they [DoE] have issued the CoE [certificate of eligibility],” Mr. Salazar said.
