Palm Concepcion Power Corp., which has two 135-megawatt coal-fired power units in Iloilo, is set to start supplying customers in the Visayas by July. The company started synchronizing its first unit to the Visayas Grid two weeks ago through the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP-Western Visayas), according to its President and Chief Executive Roel Z. Castro. The first unit’s construction was completed in June. Target completion for the second unit has yet to be determined due to policy changes at the Energy Regulation Commission (ERC), particularly the Competitive Selection Process (CSP) for power suppliers.
