THE DEPARTMENT of Energy (DoE) has issued revised guidelines for the processing of applications, amendments and termination of renewable energy service or operating contracts that set the number of days for its staff to act on an applicant’s proposed project.
Department Order 2016-06-0010, signed by former DoE Secretary Zenaida Y. Monsada on June 24, 2016, also prescribed the number of days during which an applicant should respond to queries or submit the required documents to move the application to the next step.
The order also cites cases when the DoE will presume that an application for renewable energy (RE) service contract is abandoned or withdrawn. It covers RE technologies including biomass, solar, wind, hydropower, geothermal and ocean energy resources.
