Community mall pioneer Walter Mart has teamed up with Aboitiz Power Corp. to power up its new malls under the Retail Competition and Open Access (RCOA) regime.

Aboitiz Power and Walter Mart have signed a 4.7-megawatt (MW) power supply deal for its mall expansion this year.

This year, Walter Mart is set to open branches in Tarlac, Nueva Ecija, Bulacan and Batangas as part of doubling its current portfolio of 23 community malls and supermarkets within the next five years.

WM Shopping Center Management Inc. chairman Abraham Uy said having a reliable power supply and a dependable partner would allow Walter Mart to focus on giving its customers a happy shopping experience – with up-to-date facilities and an exciting mix of retail, dining and shopping options.
